I can hardly believe another year is over, I'm sure I was getting married the other day and now I'm opening a new diary, making plans and setting my 2017 goals. As I look forward to another year ahead it's lovely to reflect on what an amazing year it's been for me.

It's had it's ups and downs but I am happy to say that it's predominantly been a year of highs and 2017 is looking like it's going to be another special year for me and I feel so blessed to be able to say that. I've worked hard this year and adapted to a slight change in my career but change is good and it's important to always try and stay head of the game.

With a fresh start and positive vibes on mind I thought I would share a few of the life resolutions for the new year ahead. I don't like to over crowd my mind (which is easily said than done) so that's why I am going to try and keep it simple with three main goals.

To Stay Positive

This can be tricky, especially when life challenges you but sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to learn. This is the time where you find out who you are, what you want and it also allows you to have time to rebuild yourself. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel and you do always have the strength to reach it. Having a positive outlook on every aspect of my life and especially how you look and feel is really important to me. I have no time for negative vibes!

To Work Hard

Working hard isn't a bad thing if the thing you're working for makes you happy. I am going to use my brain, push myself and learn some new skills. There are lots of people in the world who think they can just bumble through life and expect everything to be handed to them but I am not one of these people I am going to work hard and make my dreams a reality.

To Make it happen

If I want something I am going to make it happen. There is so much I want to see, do and experience. Every year that welcomes me is a blessing and one that I shouldn't take for granted, so this year I am going to make it happen.

These three things will apply to everything in my life from work, love and my fitness goals. I am not sad about this year ending, it's been a beautiful year but I a sure 2017 is going to be full of even more beauty.

Stay tuned for my next blog post which will go into more detail about my health and fitness resolutions for 2017, I am having a major MyProtein health and fitness overhall!

I am so excited to share it with you all.

Christmas Sparkle

It's been a while since my last blog post and I guess there isn't really a reason why I haven't posted but I just feel like life has been passing me by so quickly that I haven't had chance to get creative. With family time, work trips and a whole lot of project planning for 2017 I am really looking forward to taking some time off to relax over the festive season. I plan on surfing as much as I can and enjoying some quality family time.

I really do love this time of year but it definitely changes as you get older and you have a dig a little deeper to find that magical feeling. For some reason I couldn't seem to get in the Christmas spirit at all this year so I decided to pull together a shoot with some wonderful independent brands to find a little Christmas sparkle.

For the first time ever I was photographed in my own home as part of Emma Griffins "Model at Home" series. Here's a little taster of the festive inspired images we captured and for information on the brands we collaborated with check out bottom of the post.

I hope you've all found your Christmas sparkle this year and have a wonder time with loved ones.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

And I'll be back with a lot more blogs in 2017.

If you follow my Instragram page you'll see I am always out exploring and spend most of my time in the cold waters on the Cornish coast. Even though my lifestyle may be heavily focussed on finding the best waves around I still like to take care of my skin especially when I get out the surf. I don't like to apply too many chemicals to my body and aways look for organic and natural alternatives where ever possible.

My first EMBRACE THE DAY blog talked about my love for Head and Hair oil but in this post I am going to share my favourite Made for Life by Spiezia Organics skincare product that I love to apply to my body after a day in the water. I carry this product in my handbag or rucksack so it's always on hand. Over winter my skin often gets dry and damaged so it's important for me to try and repair and nourish whenever I can.

Gotu Kola

Rosehip Oil

Rose Geranium

Rose Petals

Carrot Oil

The Spiezia Organics Restorative Body Balm is packed full of goodness and smells amazing. This products aims to restore, regenerate and rejuvenate your body. It contains base oils such as carrot (which is a natural SPF) and Rosehip oil, both rich in vitamin C. The Gotu Kola feeds the skin and helps restore elasticity, whilst repairing damaged skin tissue. The Rose Geranium fragrance bring both your mind and body into balance. This product really is so wonderful and even though it contains a lot of oil it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy.

Living in Cornwall is pretty special, not only do we have the beaches and a quaint seaside towns but there are now so many amazing places to eat and drink in Cornwall cropping up everywhere. With eating being my second favourite thing to do (after surfing) I thought I would start sharing some of the places I love to dine on my blog.

For me there is no better way to spend a Sunday then with loved ones, enjoying good food and a little bit of wine. The British tradition of a Sunday roast is a favourite of mine. So after a brisk windy and rain soaked walk along the rugged Newquay coastline Ben and I dipped into the No.5 Brewhouse to escape the cold and indulge in my favourite Sunday tradition.

With the surf looking pretty rubbish what else is there to do on a Sunday afternoon. We both opted for the roast beef and a large glass of red wine to wash it down. This plate of scumminess didn't disappoint and I am now writing this post from the comfort of my sofa experiencing a food coma.

This roast dinner felt just like grandma had made it and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. As you can see the portions are HUGE! The roast had a great balance of flavours with so many tasty components, I loved the broccoli and cauliflower cheese which had a slight hint of blue cheese!

If you love a Sunday Roast and haven't been to No.5 Brewhouse in Newquay yet then you really need to head down there next weekend. Your stomach will thank you.

Thanks again to No.5 Brewhouse for looking after us, we will be back soon I am sure!

I love nothing more than packing up my rucksack, chucking my board and wetsuit in my car and heading off for the day adventuring around Cornwall, in search of some fun waves. The weather doesn't put me off and it shouldn't stop any of us adventuring and the things we loved doing over the summer months we should try and continue to do over autumn and winter.

As much as I love heading out for a surf often spending time out in the elements can play havock with my hair and skin and sometimes I need to take a little more care of myself as the temperatures begin to change.

I have a few products from Made for Life by Spiezia Organics that I love to pop in my bag and use before and after surfing. These are products that can make the world of difference to my hair and skin and help me embrace the day ahead. I've decided to share my favourite Spiezia Organics products over a series of blog posts and this week I am going to share my love for their Head and Hair Oil.

I always have this product in my bag and use it before and after surfing. You don't need a lot and a couple of drops of this luxurious oil can really go along way.

This Head and Hair Oil contains some wonderful ingredients with these 4 key components keeping my hair nourished and full of vitality.

Apricot Kernel Oil

Burdock Root

If you've never used oil on your hair before you should really give it ago, our hair always need a little tlc and this will product give your hair just that. It's always comforting knowing that I am being kind to my hair with organic products.

We're on the cusspe of winter and as the water temperatures begin to drop it's time dust off the winter surf attire and dig a little deeper for that motivation to surf throughout winter.

For many years I used to practically give up surfing in the winter because I couldn't stand the cold. It wasn't until I invested in a good winter wetsuit, boots, gloves and a hood that I began surfing all year round. Why I ever stopped surfing because of the cold I don't know but there really is no reason to deprive yourself of those amazing winter surfs, when all you really need to do is find the right kit to keep you warm in and out of the water.

When you fall in love with surfing you will want to do it whatever the weather but that can mean surfing in rain, hail, snow, maybe even when it's blowing a gail and you really do need to be equipped for these conditions. With so many different wetsuit brands on the marketing offering a variety of technical kit it can sometimes get a little confusing over what winter surf apparel you actually need.
As a C-Skins brand ambassador (for nearly 10 years!) I am extremely fortunate to get the chance to personally test out some of the latest wetsuit technology and have decided to share what I will be wearing this Autumn / Winter season with you all.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be slipping into the C-Skins Wired 5x4 Chest Zip - I find that a UK Size 6 fits me perfectly even though I am a UK Size 8

As the winter season progresses I will add another wetsuit into my quiver and this is the wetsuit that honestly saves my surfing, especially on the coldest of days. C-Skins Wired Hooded 6x5 Chest Zip is a favourite wetsuit for January / February / March.

Why I love these wetsuits

  • Dryknit Thermal Lining - These fleece like lining makes all the difference when you're on in the water waiting for those sets to roll in.

  • Super Seal Collar - I am a big fan of a chest zip wetsuit, I never get any flushes when I duck dive and it they also help lock in my hood when I decided to wear one.

It's not just a good quality wetsuits we need, it's also really important to get the right accessorises. If you feel the cold as much as I do you're going to want boots, gloves and a hood. Here are my top 3 wetsuit accessory picks.

Please don't let the cold stop you from surfing all year round. Just wrap up, invest in some good kit and get out there. We get some of the best waves in the UK over the winter months, here's to happy winter surfs.

I am beyond excited to announce that I have become an Ambassador for  Made for Life by Spiezia Organics !

Skincare is extremely important to me, I spend a lot of time out in the elements so it's vital I look after my skin and take care when selecting which products to use. As you may or may not know I am passionate about living a healthy organic lifestyle, so when approached by Spiezia about collaborating I naturally jumped at the chance.
This year I have made a conscious effort to only associate myself with brands I believe in and feel passionate about. If I don't love the product why would I want to put my name to it?
So with this in mind I spent one month trialling the products before signing my contract and I can honestly say that after just one day of using the Made for Life by Spiezia Organics I knew I wanted to work closely with the brand.

I have combination skin and really struggle to find products that work. In the past I have used products that claim to be "organic" and "natural" but after close inspection they are actually full or harmful chemicals that I simply do not want to rub into my skin or hair. I trialled a variety of products for my skin, hair and face and I loved every single product used.

In 1999 Spiezia Organics became the first UK company to achieve 100% organic certification across their entire collection from the Soil Association & has strived to help them create and enforce Accreditation for beauty products in the UK ever since.

From the beginning, every single product has been made by hand in Cornwall using herbs, flowers and oils from as close as quality will allow. They track the provenance of every ingredient that goes into their products so each balm, oil or ointment has its own life story. Spiezia Organics is a pure and clean way of life. They do not add any synthetic chemicals, including parabens and their products are the application of pure nature to the skin - no more, no less.

I will be working closely over the coming months with the Made for Life by Spiezia Organics team to bring you blog and video content, I will also share my own skincare regime and tips on how to look after you skin in our ever changing climate.

I can't wait for you to follow my Made for Life journey.

Cornwall has been my home now for over 15 years and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. There's something magical about the Cornish coastline that makes me never want to leave.
I have travelled to some breath taking parts of the world but no matter where I go I am always excited to head home.

This summer I spent nearly every day in Cornwall, I've travelled up and down the coast. Surfing, walking and enjoying cliff top & beach BBQ's. I haven't let the weather stop me from enjoying my home. Living in Cornwall allows me to enjoy the simple things in life. A pasty on the beach, surfing until sunset or coastal walk. I have no need or want for a fast pace life.

Living here has made me realise that it's the memories you make that you will treasure forever not the things you own and as I pack for a camping adventure down the coast I feel excited about the prospect of making more beautiful memories. Together with my husband and some friends we plan to enjoy our bank holiday basking in the magic that is Cornwall.

Here's to adventuring around your own county and finding hidden gems right on your door step!

Happy bank holiday x
